Not So Small

People like to say “it’s a small world”—especially if we run into each other at an event or while traveling or in a bar😉—but the reality of being in the world tells us otherwise. Globalization and cheap travel may have made the world accessible, but in the relative context of the space we humans occupy as individuals, it remains massive. We can feel small compared to even ordinary buildings just down the street. And compared to one of the icons of the Namib Sand Sea, Dune 41, one can feel very, very tiny indeed.

This interpretation of Dune 41 is titled Supplicant. It’s how that massive, pitiless mountain of sand blowing in slow motion all around us made me feel. It is available in our Gallery Shop as a poster print in (for the first time) various sizes or as a Fine-er Art wall or desk display piece.
