Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective: August 20, 2026

Last updated: August 12, 2026

Thank you for visiting hammondraffetto.art. This is the Privacy Policy for the Hammond Raffetto Art website and online store, operated by us — Greg and Mary Hammond — from our studio in Morada, California. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit or purchase from the site, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your information.
We are a small studio. Our approach to your data is the same as our approach to your artwork: we handle what is needed, we keep it safe, we do not treat it casually, and we do not treat it as something to be extracted for gain.
If you have any question about this policy that these paragraphs do not answer, please email us at support@hammondraffetto.art.
---
Scope

This policy covers the Hammond Raffetto Art website at hammondraffetto.art and all associated pages, product listings, journal articles, customer accounts, contact forms, and checkout processes. It does not cover the separate Hammond Raffetto Art Gallery iOS application, which has its own privacy provisions described in the Terms of Service.

Information You Provide Directly

When you place an order, we and our payment processor collect the information necessary to process and fulfill the order:
•    Your name
•    Your email address
•    Your shipping address
•    Your billing address
•    Payment information (processed and tokenized by our payment processor — we do not see, store, or retain your card number)
•    The details of what you ordered
When you create a customer account, we store:
•    Your name and email address
•    Addresses you save for future use
•    Your order history
•    Any preferences you set in your account
Customer accounts are optional. You may check out as a guest without creating an account.
When you contact us through the site’s contact form or by email, we receive the message you send along with the email address you send it from. We use this only to respond to you.
When you submit a product review through Judge.me (our review platform), you provide your name, email address, review content, and any photos you choose to include. Judge.me stores and displays this information according to their own privacy practices. See “Third Parties Who Process Data on Our Behalf” below.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the site, our hosting platform (Shopify) automatically collects standard technical information that every web server logs:
•    Your IP address
•    Your browser type and version
•    Your device type
•    The pages you view and the time of your visits
•    The site you arrived from (referrer)
This information is used to keep the site operating, to detect security threats, and to understand aggregate patterns of use. It is not used to identify you as an individual for advertising purposes.
Shopify’s native web analytics collect aggregate patterns of shopping behavior — which products are viewed, which are added to cart, which purchases are completed — to help us understand how the store is performing. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors to us.
---
Cookies

Our site uses cookies for the functioning of the shopping cart, checkout, customer accounts, and to remember your preferences. A separate Cookie Policy at hammondraffetto.art/cookie-policy describes in detail what cookies we use and how you can manage them.
---
Marketing Analytics (May Be Activated in the Future)

We do not currently run advertising pixels or third-party marketing analytics on the store. Should we activate them in the future — most likely Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking, or Meta Pixel — we will:
•    Update this Privacy Policy to disclose exactly what is activated and what it does
•    Update our Cookie Policy to reflect the additional cookies these services set
•    Present the site’s cookie consent banner in a way that lets you decline marketing cookies while continuing to shop
Google Analytics and Google Ads are services of Google LLC. Meta Pixel is a service of Meta Platforms, Inc. These services, when active, share pseudonymized event data (page views, add-to-cart events, purchases) with Google or Meta for the purposes of advertising analytics and audience creation. They do not receive your name, email, shipping address, or payment information.
If and when these services are activated, you will always have the option to decline through the cookie consent banner.

Third Parties Who Process Data on Our Behalf

We work with a small number of third parties to run the store. Each one processes data only for the purposes described below.
Shopify Inc. hosts our website and runs our checkout, payment processing, and customer account systems. Shopify collects and stores order data, customer account data, and payment information according to its own privacy practices. Shopify’s privacy policy is available at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
Whitewall (Avenso GmbH, Berlin) is our production and fulfillment partner. When you place an order, we share your name, shipping address, order number, and artwork specifications with Whitewall so they can produce and ship the piece to you. Whitewall does not receive your payment information. Whitewall’s privacy practices are described at whitewall.com.

Judge.me hosts the product reviews shown on the site. When you submit a review, Judge.me receives your name, email address, review content, and any photos you upload. Judge.me also sends an automated review-request email 14 to 21 days after your order is delivered, inviting you to submit a review. You may unsubscribe from these requests at any time via the link included in every request. Judge.me’s privacy practices are described at judge.me/privacy.

Digital Unboxing & COA Kit generates and delivers the digital component of the Certificate of Authenticity we provide with every artwork. Digital Unboxing receives your name, email address, order number, and product information for this purpose only. According to Digital Unboxing’s stated data practice, they do not collect payment details, shipping addresses, phone numbers, or browsing behavior. Their privacy practices are described in their app documentation.
---
How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above for the following purposes:
To process and fulfill your order — including sharing what is necessary with Whitewall for production and shipping, and preparing the Certificate of Authenticity for each artwork.
To communicate with you about your order — order confirmations, shipping notifications, delivery confirmations, and any follow-up needed to resolve issues.
To operate customer accounts — storing your addresses, order history, and preferences if you have chosen to create an account.
To respond to your inquiries — replying to messages you send through the contact form or by email.
To display product reviews — publishing reviews you submit through Judge.me for other visitors to see.
To maintain the security of the site — detecting fraud, unauthorized access, and other technical threats.
To comply with legal obligations — retaining transaction records as required by tax law, accounting rules, and other applicable regulations.
We do not sell your information to anyone, ever. We do not share it with data brokers. We do not build profiles of you for third-party marketing purposes.
---
How Long We Keep Information

We keep customer and order information for as long as is necessary to serve you, protect our records, and meet legal obligations:
•    Order and transaction records — retained for at least seven years after the transaction date, to comply with United States tax and accounting requirements. Certain records may be retained longer as part of the ownership history of a limited-edition artwork, which is part of its long-term value.
•    Customer account information — retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account at any time by emailing support@hammondraffetto.art. Certain transaction records will be preserved even after account deletion, as noted above.
•    Contact form messages — retained in our email system as long as they are useful for reference or as long as your inquiry is unresolved.
•    Product reviews — retained by Judge.me and displayed on the site until you request their removal. Removal requests should be sent to support@hammondraffetto.art and we will forward them to Judge.me for processing.
•    Server logs — retained by Shopify for security and troubleshooting purposes according to their retention schedule (typically 30 to 90 days for standard technical logs).
---
Your Rights

Under privacy laws in your jurisdiction, you may have some or all of the following rights concerning your information:
•    The right to know what information we have about you
•    The right to access and receive a copy of that information
•    The right to correct inaccurate information
•    The right to delete information we hold about you (subject to legal retention obligations)
•    The right to restrict or object to certain processing
•    The right to data portability — receive your information in a machine-readable format
•    The right to withdraw consent for optional processing (such as marketing communications)
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@hammondraffetto.art with a description of what you would like. We will respond within 30 days.
---
For California Residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the following additional rights:
•    The right to know what categories of personal information we collect, use, share, and sell
•    The right to delete personal information we hold about you (subject to legal retention obligations)
•    The right to correct inaccurate information
•    The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Should this change in the future, we will update this policy and offer an opt-out link.
To exercise your California rights, email support@hammondraffetto.art. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right under the CCPA.
---
For European Union, United Kingdom, and Swiss Residents

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK Data Protection Act, and Swiss data protection law, residents of the European Union, United Kingdom, and Switzerland have the rights listed above under “Your Rights.”
Legal basis for processing: We process your information under one or more of the following legal bases:
•    Contract — to fulfill our contract with you (processing your order, delivering the artwork, providing customer service)
•    Legitimate interest — to secure the site, prevent fraud, and understand aggregate patterns of use
•    Consent — for optional processing such as marketing communications or non-essential cookies, where consent is required
•    Legal obligation — to comply with tax, accounting, and other applicable laws
International data transfers: Because we are located in the United States and our vendors are located in multiple jurisdictions (including Germany for Whitewall, and various locations for Shopify, Judge.me, and Digital Unboxing), your information may be transferred outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. Where required by law, we and our vendors rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms to protect your information during these transfers.
Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.
---
Children’s Privacy

The Hammond Raffetto Art website and store are intended for adult buyers of fine art. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 years of age. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please email support@hammondraffetto.art and we will delete it.
---
Third-Party Links

Our website may include links to external services (such as social media platforms, journal references, or vendor sites). Once you leave hammondraffetto.art, the privacy practices of those services apply. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party sites.
---
Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information — including using industry-standard encryption for data in transit, choosing reputable service providers for the systems that hold your data, and limiting who has access to what within our own studio. However, no online transmission is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have concerns about the security of specific information you have shared with us, please contact us.
---
Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, when we activate a new integration, change a vendor, or respond to changes in applicable law. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes affecting how we use previously collected information will be communicated by email to affected customers where feasible.
Your continued use of the site after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
