The Namib Sand Sea is one of the wonders of the world. An ocean of reddish-orange sand, wind-whipped into towering dunes. Life struggles here, but it is not barren. This morning, the wind was driving clouds of sand across the desert. Near Dune 41, between gusts, I found these petrified remains of a tree, beneath the moon and dawn.
