Savute, Chobe National Park, Botswana

We had been tracking this young female leopard since our guide first spotted her moving through the bush, gliding in and out of eyesight as she moved steadily and silently. After about 15 minutes of carefully creeping our open-air jeep alongside her path, Isaac pulled forward into a position near a tall acacia tree that he guessed might intersect her path. And then she was gone. We all strained eyesight, trying to find her. If you’ve been to Africa, out in the bush, you’ve probably marveled at how even the largest of animals like giraffes and elephants, can just disappear and, even more startling, appear out of nowhere right in front of you.
And so it was with this marvel of evolution who suddenly materialized not five yards away in the tall grass walking  straight toward my seat in the jeep. Catching brief shots of her as she started to move past us, she was quickly within inches of me as I tried to zoom out  to capture all of her. And then in a blur of incomprehensible speed, she was on the tree trunk and 20 feet up before any of us could lock focus. Seconds later, she was walking calmly on a large horizontal branch thirty feet above. She took 360-degree stock of her position and then calmly settled into this languid repose where she remained for hours, princess of Savute, regal in relaxation.

A note about the media: As with all our artwork, we offer this piece in the medium or media we feel is best suited for its emotional connection. We generally find that most colors and details are most vividly conveyed through our Radiant finish. It's more brilliant and detailed than either acrylic or metal. We also offer this piece in Claritas, our acrylic block available in one or more of three sizes, depending on the art itself. It is ideally suited for the desktop, kitchen window, bathroom counter, or mantle.

Some of our larger pieces are also offered in polyptychs of different configurations on Fabrika, a museum quality cloth onto which color-matched inks are directly printed and bonded with a lustre finish for archival protection.

Whether a limited edition, or open edition radiant print or a Claritas gift, none of our artwork is an off-the-shelf Amazon Prime® delivery item. From order to shipment is usually a 10-day process, each step of which you will be kept apprised.

Shipping is free within the continental United States on all art. First time print collectors also receive free global shipping.

Otherwise, global shipping [outside the Continental US] is priced on a per piece basis.
