“The greatest camera ever made.”
A precision German metal machine that does zero of the work of artistry for you

“The greatest camera ever made.”

Could be a promising weekend for imaging, but . . . the Phase is in the shop to fix a small scratch on the sensor, the old equipment has all been sold, and the new Leica is not here yet. That leaves the iPhone and this beast: the Rolleiflex SL66. Made when I was eleven years old, over two kilos in weight—more than some of the tripods I carry—a precision German metal machine that does zero of the work of artistry for you. All manual. No battery. Matt Osborne of Mr. Leica calls it "the greatest camera ever made." I’ve got some old reversal and B&W film. We shall see.
