“Call some place paradise, . . .

. . . kiss it goodbye.” I am a big believer in travel and the benefits of meeting new people in new places face to face. And with the wide availability of cheap, safe flights, more people are traveling than ever. And while I doubt that’s the sole cause, it can’t be a coincidence that this is the safest time in human history to be alive.

It’s also true that there is so much beauty to see in this world, and that the more of it we see, the more likely we are to take care of it. On the other hand, it seems that an awful lot of people are not the most thoughtful of tourists.

Thanks for nothing. As photographers, we should strive to set an example for other visitors. "Take only pictures; leave only footprints."
